Affordability and Risk Management systems engineer responsible for conducting both affordability systems engineering work and risk management work on proposals, programs, and internal process improvement initiatives. Affordability engineering responsibilities include developing and applying cost estimating tools for proposals, developing and maintaining MS Excel based system life cycle cost models, identifying cost drivers, analyzing cost credibility and cost risk, conducting system level cost/performance trade analysis, and support managing the system design to ensure it is affordable to the customer. Risk Management responsibilities include leading and coordinating risk management activities (e.g., identification, assessment, mitigation, risk review board) on programs and proposals and supporting process improvement initiatives. Basic Qualifications: Position requires at least 7 years of systems engineering experience and a B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline. Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Applicant must have prior experience in either cost estimation or risk management with a strong interest to learn both disciplines. Preferred Qualifications: SCI Clearance with a recent Polygraph is desirable. This position can be filled at the Band 3 or Band 4 level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Common Job Description Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD; 4 Years with JD; 0 Years with MD; 0 Years with DVM MULTIPLE POSITIONS.
